Access Control List

An access control list (ACL) is implemented to control inbound and outbound traffic on a network segment. A hub has no intelligence and will pass all traffic to all ports. Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) is used to resolve IP addresses to MAC addresses in a subnet. Annual Loss Expectancy (ALE) is used to identify how much money is expected to be lost in a quantitative analysis.
